Project Description
Inside the Fortem × Stonewater case study video: how we brought a housing sector partnership to life on camera
It’s been an impressive partnership. 31,000 repairs a year. 11,000 units. 250 kitchens and bathrooms delivered annually.
But the challenge with any case study video in the social housing sector is translating that operational scale into something a commissioning manager or housing association board member actually connects with.
Led by creative director Hannah – a former BBC journalist with over a decade of experience in interview-driven storytelling – we specialise in producing case study videos that balance credibility with authenticity.
When Fortem approached us to document their long-running partnership with Stonewater Housing, we knew exactly what kind of video would serve them best.
How a case study video brings a housing partnership to life through real voices
Every successful case study video starts with a clear brief, and this one was no exception – we worked directly alongside Fortem’s marketing manager Amy for this project.
One of Amy’s key goals for the film was showing the partnership from multiple angles – not just Fortem’s perspective, but Stonewater’s, and crucially, the resident’s.
VideoHQ structured the production around four distinct contributors, each adding a layer to the overall story.
Two Fortem staff members spoke to the operations behind the project, as well as the personal motivation that makes the work feel meaningful.
A Stonewater partnership lead shared their experience of partnering with Fortem.
And Rebecca the resident gave the film its emotion.
Structuring a film around multiple voices without losing coherence is a skill that comes directly from documentary and broadcast journalism. It’s something VideoHQ does instinctively, and it’s one of the reasons clients in the housing sector choose us for interview-led work.
Why case study videos work in the housing sector
For contractors like Fortem, video content like this supports business development conversations, strengthens procurement submissions, and gives marketing teams like Amy’s a genuinely compelling asset to share across multiple channels.
If you’re a housing association, repairs contractor, or FM provider looking to tell your story on camera, then get in touch. Led by former BBC journalist Hannah, we’d love to partner with your marketing team to produce interview-driven case study videos that give procurement teams, residents, and stakeholders a genuine reason to trust you.
